The company said that it will engage in the discussions as part of its investigation into a preliminary route for a proposed 275 km pipeline, which will travel southwest from Narrabri to Wellington.

ESG Managing Director David Casey said that the company is keen to minimise the impact of the proposed pipeline on stakeholders.

“A priority has been placed on personal face-to-face contact to discuss the proposed preliminary alignment with directly affected parties,” Mr Casey said. “Wider community consultation will occur in August.”

Mr Casey added that ESG is seeking ‘major project status’ from the New South Wales Government for the pipeline proposal, and that the company has engaged specialist infrastructure consultant CNC Project Management to manage project consultations.

In May, ESG entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with ERM Power for the supply of gas to the proposed $700 million, 660 MW Wellington Power Station.
