The upgrade involved the relocation of an existing compressor from the Young site to Marsden, allowing a quick set up.

The compressor station is already operational, and will be run in full remote operation mode by the end of the June 2010.

The station is intended to expand the capacity of APA's MSP by boosting pressure into the Marsden to Dubbo to Tamworth system, which will provide additional through-put capacity to these regional areas, while allowing the MSP to operate at a lower pressure at the Marsden off-take.
