Both these markets have a huge demand for polyethylene (PE) pipelines requiring the flexibility of available production capacity and project delivery options to successfully meet construction program deadlines.
PPI Corporation is ideally placed to meet the growing demands of these markets as it nears completion of its production expansion projects at its main extrusion factories in Brisbane and South Australia. These plants manufacture PE pipe only, allowing all resources to concentrate on making quality PE pipe in the most efficient manner.
PPI’s production capacity has now expanded by more than 60 per cent prior to the expansion project. Currently, the main factory at Geebung in Brisbane has 18 extrusion lines that produce pipe from 3 mm to 800 mm in diameter. This facility, with its state-of-the-art equipment, is now fully set up and is the largest single site polyethylene plant in Australia in terms of optimal production capacity.
As a relatively new supplier into these markets, PPI has already taken its place as a reliable manufacturer of polyethylene pipe. Recent contracts for the supply and delivery of PE100 pipe have been awarded to PPI Corporation from BHPB at Olympic Dam, Copperco at Lady Annie Mine in Mt Isa and GD Pipelines at Groote Eylandt (Gemco) in the Northern Territory.

In total, another 100 km of quality PE pipe will be manufactured and delivered by PPI for the construction of the pipelines, which support the continual growth of Australia’s mining industry.
