The resources boom has created huge growth opportunities for PPI with large bore PE pipe capability increasing from 160 mm up to 500 mm over the last few years. To meet the ever increasing demands of the industry, PPI has installed several new PE extrusion machines in their Brisbane plant as well as in Adelaide where current capacity is now capable of producing 400 mm pipe.
Previously, PPI’s main focus was with fluid transfer PE pipes over a wide range of markets including mining. Approximately two years ago PPI entered the gas recovery pipeline business through a very active installation company in that market – namely Armflame Gas and Pipe. Since then, PPI has supplied PE pipes for coal seam gas recovery to numerous projects throughout QLD and NSW.
Last year, the company successfully tendered to Queensland Gas Company (QGC) for a project calling for PE pipes for the recovery of CSG gas together with the associated water removal. This tender has proven to be the forerunner of several further contracts with QGC. In NSW, PPI was awarded the supply of CSG gas recovery PE pipes to companies such as AGL in the Camden area.
PPI’s success over the years has largely been due to their ability to form strategic alliances with customers in all market segments. The company operates additional factories in Adelaide and Perth and has sales and warehouse facilities in all states.
