The scope of work includes receiving material, fabrication, storage, coating and testing of 8,200 pipe spools of various diameters, weighing approximately 7,5000 t.

AGC said it would combine the use of its fabrication facilities in Kwinana and Henderson, located 50 km south of Perth.

The contract is intended to take place over 18 months.

The Greater Gorgon area development plan is based on the installation of a subsea gathering system and pipelines from the Gorgon and Jansz fields to Barrow Island.

Three 5 MMt/a LNG trains to be located on the central-east coast of Barrow Island will process the gas, which will be delivered via a 70 km long, 660 - 915 mm diameter feed gas pipeline.

In early May, Chevron sought permission for a fourth processing train from the Federal Government.

The development is operated by Chevron in a joint venture with ExxonMobil and Shell.
