Anode Engineering supplies the latest in Wavetrak Electronic’s pig tracking technology, which features a unique, coded system that allows operators to distinguish between up to five different transmitters in one train.

Wavetrak’s WT06 receivers are sensitive to weak signals and feature both an analog meter and a digital LED light bar to provide an easy way to view signal strength in all lighting conditions. They are made out of light, durable anodised aluminium, have a high-impact acrylic handle, and polycarbonate ends and internals. These small and easy-to-handle receivers feature over 200 hours of continuous operation on one set of batteries (dependant on use of external strobe – if equipped – and signal detection).

Wavetrak’s patented construction allows for a stronger signal from a smaller transmitter. All transmitters are powered by easy-to-replace standard size alkaline batteries and standard equipment can be modified on request to meet a specific signal strength or battery life requirement.

Wavetrak’s Ear One geophone amplifier also enables an operator to clearly hear an approaching pig. The Ear One geophone amplifier is compact, easy-to-use and sounds great using headphones, although it can also be easily connected to an FM transmitter or car kit.

Heath presents CDI’s CD42

CDI’s flagship product, the CD42, is now available from Heath Pipeline Services. This pipeline pig location and tracking system provides all the advantages of microprocessor technology; works with all types of foam, uni-cast and metal bodied pigs; provides visual and audible data; allows the operator to walk continuously (with no interference); and, is easy to use.

The CD42’s backlit graphic screen is easily visible in dim light as the distinctive pulsing pattern of a passing pig moves across the screen.

The CD42-R receiver technology includes a simple, graphical menu system created specifically for the pigging industry. The display reveals not only the distinctive pulsing pattern of a passing pig, but also allows the operator to calculate pig speeds and locate stationary pigs quickly and more precisely.

These capabilities can be used with CDI’s Signature Series transmitters to track, locate and even differentiate between your pigs in-line.

Versatility and ease of use with Savcor’s pig tracking range

Savcor Products’ line of pig tracking equipment offers transmitters with a range of sizes, battery lives, and signal strengths for varying applications and pipe diameters. These can be utilised with foam, steel, and solid-cast pigs in shallow or deeply buried pipe, in small or large diameter, with long or short lengths.

The receivers’ ‘plug and play’ technology allows them to be used immediately out of the case, which is important to operators when on location. The user-friendly design also enables easy use without extensive operational knowledge.

These trackers can be used to track a pig’s progress during pigging operations by having receivers strategically placed along the length of the line, or to locate a stuck pig. The units are lightweight, making it easy for operators to physically walk the pipeline.

Tremco provides strength and range in pig tracking transmitters

Tremco has partnered with Pipeline Inspection Company to provide pig tracking transmitters with a strong signal strength and range.

Operation is simple; install the transmitters inside the pig, launch the pig and await a signal from either a non-intrusive pig tracking sensor or an optional locating wand.

Pipeline Inspection Company’s pig tracking systems can be used in onshore and offshore mainline transmission lines, gathering lines and wide variety process piping. The product can be used in pipe with diameters up to 72 inches.

The company’s self-contained, remote terminal unit-compatible transmitters and sensors are pressure and temperature resistant.

Two-in-one with Rosen’s ROPLAST tool tracking system

Rosen’s ROPLAST tool location and tool tracking system is a complete two-in-one system for tracking and locating pipeline tools. The system is independent of the pipeline medium and is able to pinpoint exact locations.

The system consists of two elements – a receiver with a hand-held antenna and a transmitter. The Electronic Pig Detector (EPD) system for tracking and locating pipeline tools is based on a pulsed, extremely low-frequency EMF transmission that can be received outside steel pipelines. The EPD receives the signal transmitted by any ROPLAST tool location transmitter. For ease of use, both are equipped with batteries therefore neither charging nor external power supply is required.
