A full house turned up to the APIA Adelaide dinner, held on 18 March at the Adelaide Hilton.
The dinner, sponsored by TD Williamson and GPA Engineering, was one of the best attended Adelaide events in APIA’s history.
Professor Valerie Linton from the School of Mechanical Engineering at Adelaide University addressed the dinner, speaking passionately about engineering development in Australia.
She spoke about encouraging engineering from a young age and making it an attractive future career for students.
Professor Linton stressed the importance of nurturing students and offering guidance to young engineers. She also said that once engineers graduate from university, it should be the beginning of continual learning, which is crucial for young engineers in a practical environment.

Before the dinner, members of the SA Young Pipeliners Forum group met for a drink at Charlie’s Bar in the Hilton. This provided an opportunity for young Pipeliners to network before mingling with rest of the crowd at the dinner.
