The company has a proven track record in numerous pipeline projects over the last 27 years. O’Briens said that values such as quality of work, reliability and honesty are the reasons that the company has maintained a leading position in the pipeline industry for almost three decades.

WCRW

One of the many projects that the company’s machinery is working on is the Western Corridor Recycled Water (WCRW) Project in Brisbane. The WCRW Project is the largest water recycling scheme in the Southern Hemisphere and the third largest in the world. O’Briens was responsible for the installation of large diameter pipelines throughout suburban Brisbane.

The company encountered varied and sometimes difficult ground conditions. The project demanded tight time frames to meet Brisbane’s future water needs. One of the challenges encountered during the project was soft underfoot conditions. To overcome the ground conditions O’Briens designed and built a rubber tracked ejector flocon truck for backfill in swampy areas. This also benefited the project through a reduction in the cost of material wastage. The added advantage of all- terrain, low-ground pressure specialised machines is that they make any conditions accessible. O’Briens said that the installation of the pipelines has been extremely successful. The company attributes this ongoing success to the quality of the machines and the operators.
