NationWide Hire Chief Executive Officer (CEO) John Wilton said “Omni Technical Solutions has joined the team as a major shareholder to support the next stage of our growth.

“To meet our aspirations for growth, we needed to invest in the infrastructure that will maintain our position ahead of other players in the market, and to do this, we needed to strengthen our balance sheet by bringing in new equity – this is where Omni came in.

“Almost ten years ago we started as a small, four-person operation with a dozen trucks in our fleet. Today, we have a national branch network of fixed and mobile facilities across the construction, pipeline and mining sectors, and with Omni’s support, we can expand further with the development of new products and services, along with the continued delivery of our existing fleet equipment, maintenance and support services,” Mr Wilton added.

Newly-appointed NationWide Hire Chairman and Omni Technical Solutions CEO Martin Rasmussen said “The addition of NationWide Hire to the Omni group will allow NationWide Hire to focus on it core strengths and become Australia’s leader in the provision of off-road and project specific trucks and support services.”

With a bigger and brighter future on the horizon, Mr Wilton emphasised that NationWide Hire’s potential growth in size won’t impact the very essence of what has made their business a success to this point.

“Despite the injection of equity, everything we do as a business now will stay the same,” said Mr Wilton. “From our perspective, it’s business as usual, with the same management team in place, all our original shareholders still on board, boosted by an injection of funds to take our business into its next exciting phase.”

In addition, Darren Woodley has joined the NationWide Hire senior management team as Chief Operating Officer. Darren brings to the role an extensive 26-year background in general management, sales, accountancy and operations roles, including ten years in the crane industry, both locally and internationally, as General Manager with Terex Cranes in Italy and Franna Cranes in Brisbane.
