Woodside Energy’s Nino Fogliani began proceedings at the WA Seminar with a speech about the company’s present and future LNG opportunities including the Pluto Gas Project and the Browse LNG Development.
Matthew Bowden, of Jackson McDonald, spoke about the broadening of gas specifications for Western Australian transmission pipelines, and Underground Services Managing Director Peter Rowles discussed pipe and cable ploughing technology for installing flowlines.
Aviva Corporation General Manager, Development Richard Harris spoke about the Coolimba Carbon Sequestration Project, while Dennis Kirk-Burnnand and Andrew Nicholls from GHD-PCT Engineers delivered a presentation on managing the risk of vibration induced fatigue failures in pipework.
Land Liaison and Access Manager Alex Aitken from KD.1 then spoke about establishing and maintaining good landholder relationships in Western Australia.

The afternoon set was kicked off by DBP HSE Manager Alyson Vinciguerra talking about the improvements that DBP has made in regard to safety while working on its Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline looping projects. Bredero Shaw’s Nick Ritchie then gave a speech on pipe coating, and Enerflex Process Management’s James Matison explained how a compressor station works.
Greg Steinepreis from Minter Ellison presented on ensuring efficient project delivery in tough times, and to finish off the day Coffey Natural Systems’ Shane Hashim gave a case study about seagrass and seabed monitoring at the Cliff Head Oil Field Development.
Following the seminar, attendees rushed off to get dressed for the WA Dinner Dance to be held that night, which was sponsored by Bredero Shaw and WorleyParsons. The James Bond-themed night proved a great success with pipeliners dressing up, trying their luck at roulette and dancing the night away.
