In Australia, the focus is set on pipeline construction, horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and pipeline testing. The close co-operation between the associated companies STREICHER, DrillTec and Pipeline Services International (PSI) ensures the reliable execution of challenging projects.
STREICHER companies performing
STREICHER stands for complete solutions in pipeline construction, from engineering, fabrication and assembly through to commissioning. The group’s services include the laying of pipelines for natural gas, crude oil, water or chemical products, and engineering solutions for river crossings, leak-detecting systems or optimising pipelines.
DrillTec has established itself as a drilling contractor in HDD for large-scale and complex projects for the oil, gas and civil infrastructure sectors. The company leads with developments in automated drilling rigs in the area of hydrocarbon exploration.

PSI specialises in the inspection, cleaning and service of pipelines. Tightening to avoid leaks and pressure tests with water, air and gas, pipeline drying, and calliper pigging are all part of PSI's business activities.
The Macedon Gas Project
The group’s involvement in Australia has already been rewarded with a contract – the STREICHER Clough Joint Venture received an order for the construction of pipelines for BHP Billiton’s Macedon Gas Project. The scope of work covers pipe and civil engineering, HDD and pipeline manifolds.
The Macedon Gas Project is located in the Exmouth Sub-basin, 40 km north of Exmouth, Western Australia. Gas from the subsea field will be piped via a 500 mm, 75 km offshore pipeline and 15.5 km onshore pipeline to a gas plant at Ashburton North. The 67 km Macedon tie-in will connect the gas plant to the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline.
The pipeline is designed for a capacity of 200 MMcm/d and is expected to be completed by May 2012.
