These utes now come standard with Dual Air Bags to ensure compliance with the various mine site requirements for light commercial vehicles. One of the major requirements to meet is the BMA (BHP Mitsubishi Alliance) for all BHP mine sites throughout the country.
Some of these requirements are the standard High Mount Lights, UHF radios, Fire Extinguishers, Flags, Revolving Lights, Lights On, and Battery Isolators. The major factor in this requirement is the provision of Roll Over Protection Systems (ROPS). This requires the fitment of internal or external roll bars to our range of Toyota Hilux utes, LandCruiser Wagons, LandCruiser Utes, LandCruiser Troop Carriers and Manhaul (fitted standard) range of vehicles.
The Land Cruiser Trayback is now fitted with a high head board on the tray which in a roll over situation the Ute rests on the head board and bull bar and this minimises any “crush” on the cabin itself. The head board is 300 mm above the cabin height.
Four Wheel Drive Hire Service can also fit speed limiting devices in order to assist with site specific risk assessments that are required due to no driver’s side airbag being fitted to these vehicles.
