The E130 Flip Screen is making an impact in civil engineering applications such as pipelines, roads and railways, construction and demolition, steel recycling, bins and landscaping.
The E130 uses a 360 degree rotating action to sieve finer materials out through the mesh screening chamber while large particles are trapped inside by the inward spiralling action. Upon counter rotating, the larger particles are then released.
The Flip Screen is fitted with two high capacity motors to generate 30,000 Nm of torque and provides 7 sq m of screening surface every rotation. This high volume screening bucket is easy to operate as it scoops in the same manner as a regular excavator bucket and does not spill while slewing. Multiple screen sizes are available, with mesh ranging from 17–300 mm. Mesh can be changed in less than five minutes by one person.
Pipeline contractors BJ Jarrad purchased an E130 Flip Screen to use on the water supply line for the new Prominent Hill gold and copper mine, located 130 km south of Coober Pedy. Company spokesman Neville Walker said “We were able to reuse the material that came from the trench and screen it down to the client’s requirement of 1 inch, saving us and the client thousands as the material did not have to be loaded and carted away and new material did not have to be imported.

“The material left by this process was able to be used in several creek crossings as backfill.” BJ Jarrad also used the Flip Screen to backfill a 32 km pipeline. “The back up support and parts were second to none, the team at Flip Screen were only a phone call away and parts were dispatched same day,” said Mr Walker.
There are thirteen models in the Flip Screen screening range for excavators, wheel loaders, telehandlers, backhoes and skid steers.
Flip Screen Australia exports to thirteen countries and has recently been named a finalist in the upcoming Australian International Design Awards.
