Fastwave provides integrated satellite systems and communication networks, which can be used for tracking fixed or mobile assets. The company also provides a range of Iridium and Inmarsat mobile satellite communication services, including hardware, airtime and accessories.
Fastwave is also soon to release the Iridium Nano personnel tracking and messaging device. This pocket size device is designed to provide additional safety and security for personnel working in isolated or high-risk locations. It offers global, real-time tracking, two-way messaging, emergency alerting and check-in features.
In addition, Fastwave’s vehicle fleet speed and safety monitoring system has been further enhanced through a new, dynamic geo-fencing capability that enables specific vehicles to be monitored for speed compliance on individual sections of road or track. The new feature enables each vehicle tracking unit have up to 100 customised speed monitoring zones, which can be remotely changed via Fastwave’s online Vehicle Speed and Safety Monitoring System (VSSMS). If the driver exceeds the speed limit for a particular section of road, an email and SMS alert is automatically sent to designated recipients, and an audible alert is generated in the vehicle. The same system can also be used to monitor the movement of specific vehicles (as opposed to the entire fleet) on unauthorised roads or property.
Fastwave’s vehicle tracking system has been designed specifically to cope with the harsh conditions of remote pipeline construction projects, offering global, real time visibility of vehicle operations.
