The CD42 Pipeline Pig Location & Tracking System
The CD42 Pipeline Pig Location & Tracking System is CDI’s flagship product. The system has a back-lit graphics LCD display that shows the distinctive pulsing pattern of a passing pig. With intuitive graphic menus, it is easy to use easy to use in dim light locations. The CD42 system can track the progress of pigs through their oil and gas pipeline systems, as well as pinpoint the precise location of any stationary or stuck pigs.
Although small, portable and simple to operate, the system provides the operator with advances features such as pig pass recording, pig speed calculations as well as built-in printed reporting capabilities or the option to download to a PC.
The CD42 Series Transmitters

The CD42-T0, CD42-T1, CD42-T2 and the CD42-T3 are self-contained, pressure-ready transmitters designed to work with the CD42 receiver system and offer the ultimate operator flexibility. These transmitters contain a microcontroller that allows an operator to select from a set of three built-in pulse patterns. These patterns are used to indicate to operators on the outside of the pipeline which of a series of pigs is being tracked. For offshore pipelines the transmitters offer a built-in delay-on feature allowing the transmitter to wait for a user-define time period (from hours up to 8.5 months) before transmission begins. The computerised transmitters also have the ability to monitor the pig’s movement and vibration within the pipeline with built-in shock sensors, allowing an operator to configure them to transmit only when the pig is at a standstill for ultimate battery longevity.
The CD52 Bandit Non-Intrusive Pipeline Pig Passage Indicator
The CD52 ‘Bandit’ allows simple and reliable non-intrusive detection of pig passages anywhere within your pipeline system. Simply ‘band’ the CD52 onto your pipeline and it immediately begins scanning for both transmitter and permanent magnet equipped pig passages. When pig passages do occur, their times and dates are displayed to the operator, along with a flashing ‘Recent Passage’ message. If multiple pig passages have occurred, users can simply scroll back through the Bandit’s passage memory and retrieve the time and date of any one of the last ten passages. In addition, the Bandit initiates a relay contact closure when pig passages occur, so users can interface your existing SCADA system or add additional lights and horns easily. The Bandit’s standard enclosure is a fully certified aluminium explosion-proof housing with a tempered glass window. This allows the operator to install the Bandit anywhere within its system without paying extra for explosion rated locations.
