BG Group has released its fourth quarter report, which highlights significant progress on the Queensland Curtis LNG (QCLNG) Project and its associated pipeline.
BG Group reported key Australian portfolio developments as following:
The initial two-train, 8.5 MMt/a plant remains on track for first LNG in 2014;
From mid-2012, eleven rigs will be operating with a peak target of 40–50 wells per month. To date, over 700 wells have been drilled; and,
Approximately 150 km of the 540 km pipeline network has been strung out along the pipeline route. Welding of the pipeline is underway, and is expected to increase at a rate of 2.5 km per day.
