2004 APIA Annual Convention - North Queensland Gas Pipeline
The Australian Pipeliner — January 2005
Graeme Hogarth, Project General Manager with the Project, led a detailed and comprehensive presentation on all facets of the North Queensland Gas Project encompassing the Alliance approach adopted for the project, the Native Title issues which were resolved, health and safety and environmental management.
He emphasised the many benefits which have arisen from the Alliance approach and why it had been very successful for the project.
Other members of the Alliance outlined some of the other benefits that had been documented from the project including the fauna management program and how the project secured the longest contiguous indigenous land use agreement in Australia. Delegates also heard about the fast tracking of the environmental impact statement and a comprehensive cultural heritage management plan and the adoption of a broad “fitness for purpose” work philosophy.
