Santos has applied for two pipeline licences for its proposed Shaw River Pipeline, to be located in western Victoria.
The company has applied for PL 275 for a 7 km section near Port Campbell, and PL 271 for the remaining 94 km of pipeline.
The 101 km pipeline will run from Port Campbell to a proposed 500 MW gas-fired power station to be located near Orford. The $A800 million combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) will be expandable to a three-CCGT 1,500 MW plant.
Gas is planned to be taken from the Victorian transmission system near Port Campbell using gas from the Otway and Gippsland basins. A compressor station is to be built as part of the pipeline, as well…
